Esseillon
Defensive Complex
Fort
Victor - Emmanuel
( Commune d'Aussois -
Savoia [ France ])
Built between 1820 - 1828 this multi block site was part of a great defensive structure of the old Regno di Piemonte e Sardegna...
... after a canyon crossed by a tibethan bridge,
and a steep path, finally we can walk inside...
With
eight buildings on different levels,
the higher to protect the lower
one, this
site is a clear example of the marquis de
Montalembert's military architecture.

1500 soldiers
composed the garrison, equipped by 88 guns.
Now all the site is completely abandoned to itself.
